Yoga poses for improving posture
1. Legs up the wall pose
This yoga pose is the restorative yoga pose. It relaxes our body and our mind. It not only provides us correct posture but it also provides us stress-free and relaxed mind.
In Legs up the wall, you need to support your legs using a wall or pile of blankets. To practice Legs up the wall, you lie down straight on a flat surface near a wall, then place a think blanket under your hips and keep your legs supported on the wall like shown in the image. Now relax yourself.
2. Cobra Pose
Cobra pose is known for many health benefits. It decreases the stiffness in your lower back, increases flexibility, strengthens your arms and shoulders and has many more benefits.
In Cobra pose, you lie down in the prone position(facing downwards), then start raising your upper body slowly until your arms are straight and support yourself on your arms.
Cobra pose makes your body flexible and improves your posture, and it is very easy to practice.
3. Mountain Pose
Mountain pose, also known as Tadasana in Sanskrit. It is one of the easy yoga poses of all. Mountain pose has many health benefits like improving body posture, reducing back pain and many others.
In Mountain pose, you just stand straight with your feet together and keep your arms down. It is an easy pose and very beneficial for improving body posture.
4. Tree Pose
In Tree pose, you need to stand straight then raise your 1 leg and place your feet on the side of your thigh. You can see the posture in the picture.
This pose improves your posture and makes your legs strong.
5. Bridge Pose
Bridge pose is also known as Setu Bandha Sarvangasana in Sanskrit. It is called bridge pose because, in this pose, you need to take a position like a bridge.
To practice bridge pose, lay down straight on your back, bend your knees and bring your feet to your hips, then start raising your hips and lower back until your back is straight.
Above mentioned yoga poses are very easy to practice and improve your body posture. You can practice these yoga poses daily for total 10-15 minutes and you’ll see the results soon easily.
